Strabane History Society meets on Thursday 10th July 2025 at 4.00p.m. in the Alley Theatre, Railway Street, Strabane to celebrate the launch of the latest book, the 22nd publication of the Society in 36 years.
The book named ‘Strabane’s influence in America ’ outlines the life and times of over 25 people from Strabane who carved out fame and fortune in the colonies of the Americas. Some were famous like President Wilson, Sir Guy Carleton, John Dunlap and President James Knox Polk. But there were many others who contributed to the development of the great country which led the way in the development of the free world. Strabane punched well above its weight when it came to exporting people who could make a worthy contribution to the Land of the Free.
Society Chairman, Michael Kennedy has gathered a fine collection of names and articles which will provide you with an amazing addition to your already extensive range of local history, penned by himself and others.
