Looking through these pictures brings back so many great memories of growing up in Strabane in the 50;s and early 60’s

Number 13 is Strabane Academy on the Derry Road…….the original one which had Sam Stirling as headmaster in the 60’s. The next one is Milltown House or Strabane Grammar of which James Wilson was headmaster in the same time frame.

Hello, I’m trying to find out about children homes in Strabane or is there any names or information on the children who were in them. My name is Gene Grogan from Termonmaguirk Historical Society and I’m looking for information on a boy who was believed to have come from a home in Strabane around the very early 1900s. His name was John Graham and it’s known he came to a house and farm in a part of Termonmaguirk parish called Creggan. As a matter of interest,he was the man who composed the song, The Creggan White Hare, if anyone down there ever heard of it.
